After the economic disaster of Covid19, cancellation of many photography festivals or Bessard editions was present, I visit my collectors and booksellers in the south of France! In picture with John Doe Books bookstore in the luberon with almost 5000 titles of photo books including all our published authors!
The Sea of Love is a book that samples the cultures I have lived in over the decades. Its also a book that samples the way I work, how that work has evolved and how processes of obsessive behaviour have been compressed into research via the device of the book. Its also a book that interrogates the human condition, desire, family, territorial peculiarity and otherness.
Après le Covid19, l’annulation de Paris Photo NewYork, annulation du photobook festival de Bienne (Suisse) du festival de photographie de Hambourg (Allemagne) du photobook festival de Vienne (Autriche) et du festival de Arles ou nous sommes présents chaque année, Urgence économique oblige, tournée des collectionneurs, booksellers, libraires, fondation et auteurs … à Toulon avec Avec Michel Costagutto (auteur des textes de notre livre: Saw Strauberries de Lin Zhinpeng aka 223) et du photographe Elian Bachini qui prépare son exposition de la danse japonaise Butõ.
