In the year of celebration of its XXV edition, Encontros da Imagem Festival launches the EI AWARD 2015 aiming to reward the best Contemporary Photography Portfolio of 2015.

Encontros da Imagem present a unique opportunity for artists from around the world to highlight talented photographic projects and at the same time, gather international experts in the field of photography.

The EI AWARD 2015 is assigned through a Portfolio Review that offers the photographer the opportunity to show their work to commissioners, gallery owners and expert editors and establishing solid foundations for the promotion of their work.

The winner will be invited to exhibit his/her work in an individual exhibition at the Festival Encontros da Imagem  2016, publish a zine in the Zine Collection from the Edition Bessard and will receive a prize money.

Encontros da Imagem Festival invites all the photographers to submit their application to the EI AWARD 2015 until 24th of Jule of 2015.

Encontros da Imagem – International Photography Festival

 2015 is the year of celebration of the 25th  edition and Braga will host the new edition of the international Photography Festival, this time with the motto  “Power and Illusion” which provides an impetus for contemplation regarding the ways in which the technical images relates to reality, the authenticity and the illusion of the medium of photography.

At a time when power tends to be increasingly on, and the image becomes an unexpected force, it is time to refresh the political consciousness and, at the same time bring a new type of audience, demonstrating the power the image has to captivate.

ENCONTROS DA IMAGEM  XXV edition, which will take place in Braga, Portugal, happens from 25 September until October 31st  2015.

James Nachtwey: Witness to History—Afghanistan, Ground Zero, Iraq

An exhibition at the Currier Museum of Art, Thursday, September 10, 2015, 5:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

ames Nachtwey has documented some of the most important events of the past four decades, including the collapse of the Twin Towers in New York City. This exhibition of iconic photographs taken in Afghanistan, the United States and Iraq focuses on war’s effect on the lives of everyone involved, including Americans at home and abroad, and troops returning home.

Hidden Track by the Chinese artist 223, limited edition of 500 copies with a signe C Print, probably in a slipcase…

Send it the PDF and InDesign files to the printer, thanks to Ramon Pez for the design of this amazing works and thanks to my Chinese friend 223 (Lin Zhinpeng) , the artist edition is sold out (in 2 days!)  but the limited edition it’s ok LOL you can see a double pageof the book. Im going climbing the Alps today, see you soon, i’ll give you some news at 4800 m d’altitude!
